My last day in the Madison Valley it was the 2009 Fly Fishing Festival in Ennis, Montana, so the town was booming. I had to drive two Norwegian guests to the airport but they wanted to stop for buffalo jerky in Ennis along the way. As we stroll through town, there was a man sitting on a city bench with a shotgun on his. Totally shocked/freaked out, Fredrick, the Norwegian frantically taps me on the shoulder and says “Mandy is this America?!”
My response, “This is not America. Thank God Fredrick, this is only Montana!”
